Bird Streets - Go Free

Indie-rock artist Bird Streets (John Brodeur) presents the animated music video for their single, “Go Free." The cartoon short debuts a new gang of band members–a wolfman (on bass), a tortoise (drums), a snake (keyboard), and an avatar of Brodeur wearing a bird costume (guitar)–in what could be best described as a classic ice-cream caper. Inspired by Hanna-Barbera, Jackson 5ive, and Groovie Goolies, the lighthearted clip will give you all the throwback feels.

This is Bird Streets’ second collaboration with production company Eat Your Greens, following the award-winning clip for “Sleeper Agent" (Best Music Video: Hong Kong Indie Film Awards and San Francisco Arthouse Short Festival).

Using the “ink blot” technique to create abstract Rorschach prints with watercolor over Xeroxed periodical headlines and images, “Blot” seeks to both remind viewers of the fragility of democracy, divisive political tension through the folded paper and the subsequent bifurcating interpretation of how we “see” the event in a “post-truth” America. Edson's Gravy Edson's Gravy

Edson's Gravy

Based on Russell Edson's classic poem, "Gravy" is a whimsical ode to a timeless condiment.

Russell Edson (1935-2014) is widely considered the godfather of prose poetry in America. Over the course of his long career, Edson published nearly two dozen books and received fellowships from the Guggenheim Foundation and the National Endowment for the Arts.

Edson’s work turns everyday events into dreamy offbeat fables “as dazzling as a good Dali or de Chirico painting” (Booklist), earning him a singular place in the world of contemporary poetry.

Filmmaker Ryan Kittleman received permission from Edson’s estate to produce an animated short film based on the 1973 poem “Gravy”, marking the first time Edson’s work has been adapted for the big screen. The film was released in 2024.
