POP! follows the travails of an unemployed, thirtysomething Chinese American woman living at home with her mother, as she obsesses over ways to remedy or mask her adult acne in time for a family friend’s Chinese New Year banquet, where she hopes to reunite with an old high school crush.

In the end, our bodies are as fragile and ephemeral as paintings made of sand. Who will care for them when our time is over?

There is a group of volunteers in Jewish tradition who clean and prepare and dress the dead. THE SACRED SOCIETY is about these men, why they choose this work, and how it changes them. Illustrated with flowing, haunting sand animation, this documentary explores the importance of sacred ritual in helping us find meaning in our brief lives.

Uprooted from his home of Africa, Yasuke rose through the ranks of feudal Japan to become an elite soldier, and dear friend of a warlord. Using tactile and traditional animation, Yasuke uncovers a forgotten story.
This film interprets one version of documented history in the 1500s, others exist that both contradict or support this depiction.

Textpop is an experimental short that explores visible language, neurodivergence, and constructed meaning, through an innovative blend of color, imagery, and typography—texts, phrases, direct messages, fragments, lists. The animation, shifting every 2-5 seconds, mirrors our contemporary attention spans influenced by technology. The film invites viewers to experience text as a material, reflecting on information construction, retention, and delivery. It is a fractured poem, which meditates on grief, perception, and meaning, created without storyboarding or previsualization. Each scene developed in a continuous, unedited flow borrowing from the process of direct filmmaking and cameraless animation. Textpop investigates the interplay between digital animation, motion design, and traditional experimental practices.

The last shovelful plunges the shot into darkness. “Undergound” is a stop-motion film that seems to be talking about death, yet does the exact opposite.

Torii 鳥居 is a short film in the form of an audiovisual composition about the traditional Shinto gates of the same name in Japan. The film uses these gates which symbolically mark the transition from the mundane to the sacred as representatives of a personal synaesthetic and spiritual journey through five levels of consciousness, traveling from existentialism to metaphysics, abstraction, and the Shinto deities called Kami, culminating in a final transition that weaves together these diverse philosophical threads.

When two youths mysteriously disappeared in China, their families embarked on a perilous 20-year journey to search for lost loved ones. Along the way, they uncovered a most secretive state crime and a grassroots movement that inspired a nation.

Daguzi, a poor young man, finds a child named Bao drifting on the shore and decides to adopt him. To give Bao a better future, he takes him to the Bay of the Great Dragon to search for the treasures of a mysterious black ship. However, Daguzi is captured by the ship's monster, who begins to turn him into a monster. Bao desperately tries to save his father. Meanwhile, the legends and ghost stories of the bay emerge, revealing many adventures, some of them particularly disturbing.
